A delegation of the newly elected Governing Body of the Chefs’ Association of Pakistan (CAP) called on Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan at the Governor’s House, Lahore, on Tuesday.
The delegation was led by CAP President Ahmad Shafiq, accompanied by Patron-in-Chief Waqar Ilyas Khan, Secretary General Mian Shahid Mehmood, Vice President (HoReCa) Fraaz Kasuri, Finance Secretary Muhammad Nadeem Anwar, Joint Secretary Abdul Hadi, Vice President (Lahore Chapter) Tippu Imran, and Vice President (Islamabad Chapter) Sadaqat Sohail.
Other senior members of CAP, including Babar Sheikh, Muhammad Jamil, Muhammad Razzaq, Saqib Jahangir, Irshad Ali, Saira Riaz, Rukhsana Tabassum, and Chef Thanakon from Thailand, also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan appreciated the association’s continuous efforts in uplifting professional and young chefs across Pakistan. He commended CAP’s contribution to the hospitality sector and its role in promoting Pakistan’s culinary identity at the national and international levels.
President Ahmad Shafiq briefed the Governor on the upcoming “Pakistani Cuisine Day” celebrations scheduled for November 20, 2025, and extended an invitation for the Governor to inaugurate the event. The Governor warmly accepted the invitation and expressed his full support for the initiative.
Ahmad Shafiq also invited the Governor to visit the College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM) in the coming days — an invitation that the Governor graciously accepted.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Ahmad Shafiq presented a souvenir to Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan as a gesture of respect and gratitude.
The Chefs’ Association of Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to promoting culinary excellence, skill development, and international collaboration within Pakistan’s vibrant hospitality industry.
