It’s Time to Revive Our Culinary Heritage and Share Pakistan’s Flavors with the World

The Chefs’ Association of Pakistan (CAP), in collaboration with the College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM), is set to celebrate Pakistani Cuisine Day on 20th November 2025.

The purpose of this initiative is to revive Pakistan’s rich culinary heritage by showcasing traditional dishes from all provinces, some of which are on the verge of being forgotten. This celebration will not only highlight the authenticity of regional flavors but also serve as a reminder of the diverse cultural traditions that unite the nation through food.

From the vibrant flavors of Punjab to the soulful delicacies of Sindh, the hearty recipes of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the rustic dishes of Balochistan, and the unique culinary traditions of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Pakistani Cuisine Day promises to present the true spirit of Pakistan’s gastronomic diversity.

Speaking about the occasion, Mr. Ahmad Shafiq, Founder/President & CEO of COTHM, said:

“The world is accepting and acknowledging the Pakistani talent, but it’s time to let the world know the heritage in the shape of traditional taste, aroma, and plating by the hands of the نانیاں (Nanies – maternal grandmothers) and دادیاں (Dadies – paternal grandmothers). These are the real heroes of the nation.”

This inspiring message emphasizes that Pakistani Cuisine Day is more than just a food festival—it is a cultural movement to preserve the country’s culinary roots, honor the guardians of traditional recipes, and proudly present Pakistan’s flavors on the global stage.

Pakistani Cuisine Day will serve as a platform for chefs, students, food lovers, and cultural enthusiasts to come together in honoring the legacy of Pakistan’s traditional dishes while paving the way for their revival and global promotion.
