Culinary Excellence Beyond Vision: CAP and COTHM Host National Blind Cooking Competition 2025

In a powerful display of inclusion and culinary talent, the Chefs Association of Pakistan (CAP), in collaboration with the College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM) and the Pakistan Foundation Fighting Blindness (PFFB), successfully hosted the National Blind Cooking Competition 2025.

The landmark competition featured more than 25 visually impaired participants from across the country, who showcased exceptional culinary skills, creativity, and professionalism. From traditional desi specialties to expertly prepared sweet dishes, each entry reflected passion, precision, and unwavering determination, reinforcing the belief that true vision is driven by skill and commitment rather than physical limitations.

A distinguished panel of judges, including Chef Hasnain, Chef Qazi Abbas, and Chef Saira Riaz, along with other renowned hospitality professionals, evaluated the competition. Their guidance and appreciation highlighted the high standards achieved by the participants and encouraged greater inclusion within the culinary and hospitality industry.

The event was further honored by the presence of Khawaja Farhan Anjum, Group President and CEO of KGN Builders & Developers, whose support underscored the importance of empowering differently-abled individuals through skill-based initiatives.

As part of COTHM’s continued commitment to skill development and professional growth, all participants were awarded Food Safety Certificates and COTHM caps by COO Zaheer Ahmad. This initiative highlighted the importance of formal recognition and professional training in empowering individuals with disabilities and preparing them for meaningful careers in the hospitality sector.

The National Blind Cooking Competition 2025 marked a proud milestone for CAP and COTHM, reflecting their shared commitment to social responsibility, inclusive education, and equal opportunities within Pakistan’s hospitality sector. The event stood as a strong reminder that talent knows no boundaries when provided with the right platform and belief.
